We are delighted to launch our latest liturgical project Candlemas - Mass & Procession according to the Use of Sarum, this time we are fortunate to be collaborating with @greatstbarts in London. There will be polyphony from Old Hall manuscript. The service is at 7pm and the bar will be open afterwards.

We are very excited to be performing at St Olave, Hart Street on the 4th December at 1pm. We’ll be offering an Advent-themed programme, including works by Byrd, Queldryk, and Amner.

Has been lovely to return to @winchestercathedral today for a lunchtime concert in the Lady Chapel singing Tudor polyphony and chant. It was delightful to have a full house and lots of lovely feedback!

We are excited to be giving a free lunch time concert @winchestercathedral this Tuesday (16/07) at 1:15pm of Tudor polyphony including some of Merbecke’s funeral sentences, such as this video, “I know my redeemer liveth”, presented here with reconstructed historic pronunciation.

We are delighted to have gambist, Theo Nisbett at our concert “Novo Cedat Ritui” this Tuesday at 8:30pm in Keble Chapel. Theo can frequently be seen playing his viola da gamba in various leading Oxford-based ensembles. Theo is also an accomplished baritone. He was formerly an academical clerk at New College, and currently sings at the Norbertine Priory in Peckham.

We are delighted to announce our next concert - Novo Cedat Ritui! A programme of sacred works, both solo and ensemble, that mark a momentous shift in music history: the shift from the rigidity of the Late Renaissance to the freedom of the early Baroque. Composers are to include Palestrina, Rusca, Monteverdi and F. Caccini among others. As ever, we will take care to present these dramatic works in the context of historically informed pronunciation and ornamentation.

Do come along to Keble at Chapel to hear works by these wonderful composers at 8:30pm on Tuesday the 21st May. Tickets will be available on the door and wine will be on sale. @alternativecanon
